Unit 7 :Meeting Aesclepius

For this exercise we are to first focus on a wise individual that we feel a special connection. We are to carefully study them , then we are to sit in communion with them.  Next we are to visualize a beam of white light coming from their crown, throat and heart the light should represent, loving kindness and purity and should begin to fill our mind, heart and throat and should bath and purify us with the wiseness of our focal person.

This exercise was very interesting I find that with all these exercise we are to take the positive qualities that we find in others and should try to take them on or into ourselves. I think that these exercise make me more aware of positive qualities and negative qualities of others and I defiantly think twice about my actions before I react or speak, although I am a work in progress I am better able to identify positives and negatives.

One cannot lead another where one himself has not gone
This statement means that you will not be able to tell someone how to achieve there goals or how to walk their spiritual path if you have not already walked that path, which to me ultimately means that every persons path to integral healing will be different because no two people have the exact same experiences.

  1. Rachel,

As a nurse there are many patients I come in contact with that I have not walked in their shoes. I have seen many types of illnesses and seen many reactions to these illnesses. I believe that I can lead a person to achieve their optimal wellness by the past experiences that I have had with patients. In a way, I have had to study human responses to many situations. In this way, I guess I have walked in their shoes and experienced what they have. I believe this gives me some guidance to help them achieve their "wellness"

    Thanks,
    Sandy N.

  2. I somewhat disagree that we cannot lead others where we have been. Many, many times in life we will give advice, suggestions, or just talk about something that could lead someone in the right direction. It's inevitable that we reach our true potential. Maybe not in this lifetime, but eventually we all reach our highest consciousness. We may not "lead" others but we can help them without even knowing it. I believe we do this everyday.

  3. I agree that we cannot actually "lead" a person if we have not done it ourselves. I also agree with Christanlane, that we can help point them in a helpful direction, but I don't believe we can actually lead. Not sure if that makes sense...lol
