One of the main differences that I found was we not focusing on our emotions and feelings as we did with the loving kindness exercise . With that exercise we were basically projection those thoughts and feelings of loving kindness out, because this is the way to get them back. With this week we were focusing on our breath and removing unwanted thoughts and feeling from our mind, which can be difficult when you are thinking constantly about what else needs to be done.
It is important to remember that when I let negativity take over, I am ultimately setting my self up for failure. When you I positive I am better able to think and react to the things that I need to do, I am going to be physically happy mentally happy and spiritually happy if I continue to add these steps into my life and work on perfecting them.

Rachel,
ReplyDeleteWow, it seems like you have a lot on your plate and I truly wish you the best in accomplishing all your daily tasks as well as your goals. I agree that this exercise was way better than the loving-kindness activity because you were able to just focus on yourself. Maybe creating time everyday where you have no choice but to relax and focus, even if it is for ten minutes could be beneficial for you. Good luck with everything!

Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a bad week. I'm so sorry about that! I found your blog interesting as it is the exact opposite from how I felt. I really liked this week's exercise, better in fact, than last week's exercise. I found it easier to focus on my breath and not give attention to the thoughts and feelings coming into my head no matter how pressing or negative the issue. I had a difficult time focusing on the loving-kindness exercise and was easily distracted by outside influences. Anyway, good luck to you. I hope you have a much better week.
